Some special events held each year at Armonk Nursery School that parents like to know about in advance are:
Birthday Parties: Parties, including those that occur in the summer are celebrated within each classroom, the day being made a particularly festive and special one for the child. At snack time, “Happy Birthday” is sung with Fervor! Parents of the birthday child are asked to provide a colorful birthday napkin and a treat for each child.

Parents’ Day: A day is set aside for parents to attend school with the children. This is one of our most popular, well-attended events. This being a very special day for the child, siblings are not permitted to attend. In the rare instance when a parent is not able to attend and there is no suitable substitute available, we request that the child not attend. Arrangements can be made for the parent to attend a regular class session convenient to their schedule and that of the class.

Graduation for four year olds: Graduation is held the last Friday of school. All parents and grandparents are invited and encouraged to bring a camera.

Trips: Our trips take us on meaningful explorations of our community. The outings are structured and timed appropriately for pre-school children.

Conference Days: There will be no school on these days to permit the teachers to fully devote themselves to conferences. Conferences are held in Fall and Spring.

In-Service Training: In the spring our teachers take a day of inservice training. This is a time for them to observe other schools’ methods and curricula. There will be no school on this day. Date to be
